Visa Application Charge Pricing Changes

As part of the 2017-18 Budget, the Government announced a number of changes to existing Visa Application Charges (VACs) including the introduction of a number of new products as detailed below which will affect future Filipino visa applications.

The VACs will be updated in the “Fees and charges for visas” section of the Department’s website (https://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Visa/Fees) from 1 July 2017.

Indexation of visa application charges

From 1 July 2017 all current VACs will be indexed annually in line with the forecast Consumer Price Index (CPI) and rounded to the nearest $5.

  • The indexation only applies to the 1st instalment component of the VAC.
  • Indexation does not apply to 2nd instalment VACs.
  • The indexation of 1st instalment VACs applies to both primary and secondary applicants.
  • Table A below provides the revised VAC pricing (with indexation applied) effective 1 July 2017 for our Filipino visa applicants.

In my book, AVOID THE MIGRATION MINEFIELD, Safely Migrate To Australia From The Philippines,I pointed out that the department of immigration may increase the VAC amounts and schedule those increases three to four times per year.

The SkillSelect Seminar will cover this and many other topics for those professional SkillSelect Filipinos Visa applicants who are seriously contemplating on migrating permanently to Australia from the Philippines.
